Seven categories of information help a manufacturer select the right process and return a more accurate quote with fewer follow-up questions.

The Seven Categories

Information that affects process, price and timing

01

CAD or drawing

Attach the current model or controlled drawing and identify the revision when one applies.

02

Quantity

State the immediate quantity and mention likely follow-on quantities when they may change the recommended route.

03

Material

Specify the grade and condition, or describe the application when material selection remains open.

04

Finish or coating

Include passivation, polishing, blasting, anodizing, PVD, DLC or other final-condition requirements.

05

Critical tolerances

Identify the features that control fit or function and list required inspection deliverables.

06

Fit or assembly needs

Describe mating components, trial assembly and any basic functionality check expected before shipment.

07

Target delivery date

Provide the date the part is needed for the lab, build or internal milestone—not only when the order may be placed.

Need Process Guidance?

Describe what the part must prove

You can still request a review when material or process is undecided. Explain the application, development stage and evaluation goal instead of guessing at a manufacturing route.

Checklist complete?

Attach it with the CAD or drawing and send the project directly to Lab Ready.
