What does Lab Ready manufacture?
Lab Ready focuses on orthopedic and medical device parts, development builds and low-volume components using CNC machining, metal and plastic 3D printing, molding, finishing and optional assembly checks.
Who does Lab Ready work with?
Lab Ready works with orthopedic medical-device engineers, medical-device companies and medical-device machine shops that need one-off, small-scale production or overflow manufacturing support.
Is Lab Ready a broker or marketplace, or a direct manufacturer?
Lab Ready is a founder-led manufacturer, not a broker or marketplace. Founder Charlie Barfield, a 20-year medical-device engineering veteran, reviews RFQs directly and stays involved with the job from quote through delivery.
How quickly will Lab Ready respond to an RFQ?
Complete RFQs typically receive a quote within one business day. Email responses typically arrive within 1–2 business hours during the Monday–Friday workday. Complex or incomplete requests may require additional review.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. A single validation part, a small development batch and a low-volume run are all valid quote requests.
How long does an orthopedic part take?
Typical lead time is 3–4 weeks, depending on process, material, complexity, finishing and inspection requirements. A specific schedule is confirmed during quoting.
Is Lab Ready ISO 13485 certified?
Yes. Lab Ready states that it is ISO 13485 certified for medical-device quality management. Ask for current certificate and scope information when qualification documentation is required.
Which CNC machining processes are available?
The listed scope includes 3, 4 and 5-axis milling, CNC turning, Swiss turning, threading, drilling, knurling and boring, supported by EDM and precision grinding.
Which 3D printing processes are available?
The listed plastic processes are SLA and SLS. The listed metal additive processes are DMLS and SLM.
Which materials are available?
The current catalog includes titanium, stainless steel, cobalt-chrome, aluminum and tool steels plus engineering plastics such as PEEK, PPSU, PEI, POM and nylon.
Can Lab Ready coordinate surface finishing?
Yes. Listed options include anodizing, DLC and PVD coating, bead blasting, polishing, electropolishing and passivation.
Can parts be fit-checked or assembled before shipment?
Optional fit testing, trial assembly and functionality checks can be scoped during quoting when the required components and acceptance criteria are available.
What should be sent with an RFQ?
Include CAD or a drawing, quantity, material, finish, critical tolerances, inspection needs, fit or assembly requirements and the target delivery date.
Does Lab Ready ship nationwide?
Yes. The website states that Lab Ready is Mississippi-based and ships orthopedic parts to clients nationwide.
Can Lab Ready help select a process or material?
